The photos
below are of the
major project I worked on for over a year with Marvin Oliver of
Alaska Eagle Arts.
All of the frame pieces in these photos are laser cut from steel. All of
the glass panels inserted into the frame were waterjet cut and fused in a huge
kiln. It took years and many people to complete this project, and we all
made it happen.
My part of this project was taking
the engineers CAD drawings and detailing them in CAD to make sure that the
entire frame fit together correctly, as well as taking the artwork for the glass
from paper drawings, making CAD files of those drawings, programming and cutting
the glass parts with the waterjet. I was involved in much of the prototype
stages of this project as well. This was by
far one of the most interesting things I have ever done and the longest amount
of time I ever worked on one project. I am honored to have been such an
instrumental force behind completing this project.
